I finally made it to Cairns Thursday morning after leaving at 13.20 on Tuesday... so a bloody long flight! Unfortunately my suitcase got lost and turned up a day later so I now understand the saying better late than never! Luckily I had 1 change of clothes in my hand luggage or I would have been screwed!
My first day here was pretty much looking around the local area trying to keep myself awake... much harder than you would have thought! I found myself falling asleep within seconds just by closing my eyes! I ended up in bed about 21.30 and woke up at about 7.30 so not too bad.
The next day involved some shopping and a quick tour of the surrounding beaches as well as briefly looking for work and a car! Cars here are so old, shit and expensive! I'm going to look at a crappy Nissan micra 1995 for $3000, so hopefully I can get it for $2500! I've spent the day looking for jobs online so tomorrow I'll have to pay a visit to all the local shops and bars.
